quite good vegetarian miso ramen for airport standards. I did pay extra for mushrooms, which they forgot to add, but honestly, I’m not going to argue over a few cents. Overall, it was a satisfying meal before a flight.

As for being in a airport, this restaurant/bar is a great place to eat while you are waiting to board your flight. They have great sushi and ramen! Some people in my party ate the Pork Tonkotsu Sushi and drank the Espresso Martini drink. They were both tasty and no issues with the dishes. I would recommend to come to Kaedama to eat some great, delicious ramen and sushi before your flight.

Never got to order anything, but I wanted to shout out the great bartender. He’s a really fun guy to talk to. I crashed at one of the seats here for a few moments to look something up, and the bartender welcomed me with a glass of water, and even gave me some water to go, even though I had never even ordered anything. I’d recommend just for the bartender !

After reading the reviews and asking a few patrons, I skipped the ramen for some special sushi rolls. The rainbow roll and the crunchy shrimp rolls were very, very good compared to standard expected airport sushi quality. You can taste the smokiness of the shrimp on that roll (likely torched, suggests it was handled with care rather than repackaged ready made sushi rolls). Prices are generally 20% more expensive than your average sushi joint.

The food was super solid for airport food, but what really made this place special was Lou, the man working behind the counter. He was so kind and warm to everybody he spoke with, and he had just such a strong positive energy about him. I sat there for hours doing work, and it was honestly just a pleasure to watch Lou being a little bit more light into this world. I will say, good and drinks were definitely on the pricey side, but it’s to be expected with airport restaurants I guess.

After discovering that "Surf" no longer serves sushi, I went to the global bazaar. In the center, there was a bar/counter place called Kaedama which DOES serve sushi. Overall, I had a positive experience. The food came out faster than my tea. It was also interesting that the edamame came in a bowl with the saran wrap still attached. This is great for keeping it hot, but it was also clear that no salt/topping were added. The tuna bowl was very good. I only wish I had a little soy sauce to coat the sashimi... Atmosphere was also interesting. I got to hear some conversations between employees on why someone was fired.
